844 History and Stats.

Stop in Austin, Texas May 19-21 2006

This view is about 1/4 mile from my boyhood home.

Here she comes, at mainline speed about 55 mph.

And

There she goes.

Pulling onto the siding at the Amtrak Station in downtown Austin.

A view from in front as the 844 eases it's train on to the siding.

Soon after the 844 rolls to a stop on the siding, the daily mid-morning Amtrak rolls thru on the mainline.

After disconnecting from her train the 844 backs down the mainline to park behind her train on the siding in front of the Amtrak station allowing the public a better view.

Backing by on the main.

Resting in front of the Station.

A view from the back of the train, the 844 is directly behind me in front of the station.

Mid train looking back, here you can see the 844 resting in front of the Station.
