Figures & Accessories
I'm always looking for figures or accessories, that can be used outside that will make the scenes on my garden railroad look more real. Here are some photos and descriptions of what I have found and where I found them.
The Engineer is from Lionel (eBay), the Piano and
Popcorn machine are refrigerator magnets I found at the checkout stand at Bed
Bath & Beyond. They are made by
ACME
International Inc. - Wholesale Refrigerator Magnets. I saw a forum posting
at one time where someone put mini Styrofoam beads inside the popcorn machine
and then used a small pump to create motion. I thought the piano would make a
great scene hanging from a building with the moving crew hoisting it up.
I saw these dogs in a vending machine, when I was leaving the grocery store the other day. They looked a little large for RR use but I bought one anyway, only .75 so no great loss. When I got home, I placed them next to my RR station that I'm working on, and as you can see they are a little large, but may do well placed by themselves somewhere on the layout. So the next trip to the store I picked up more, I may have to incorporate a junk yard, into the layout so the dogs have something to protect.
