Fairly average barbecue. One distinguishing factor is that they offer fried rice as a side dish; sadly, the rice really wasn't to my taste, and I wish I had ordered fries instead. Nothing really wrong, and it seems like they have a loyal following, but I wouldn't drive very far to eat here.
You can get fries and the food is pretty cheap, but otherwise there's nothing much to recommend it; the pork ribs are good, but the brisket is subpar, and both potato salad and banana pudding unmemorable. Also, they're understaffed and require you to request those items (like onions and BBQ sauce) most places let patrons help themselves to, leading to needless counter delays.
Only worth visiting if you live within walking distance.

Perfectly acceptable TexMex, with decent nachos, adequate fajitas, and a pretty good Tres Leches cake (though not, as one nearby resident had claimed, the best in Austin). Worth a visit if you're in the area, but nothing I'd drive to Deepest South Austin for.

This is my restaurant find of the year. This isn't one of those places where they cook the food at your table. But they do have excellent hibachi dishes (try the hibachi squid), wonderful sushi (the rolls are works of art), some of the best gyoza I've had in quite a while, and two excellent soups; the miso and a clear broth soup with mushrooms that's sublime.
The service is highly efficient and the prices are reasonable (check for the buy one, get one at 50% off hibachi special). I don't just want to go back; I've been back several times, and I plan to keep it up as long as they'll have me.
Momji just recently opened up in the Southeast (not Southwest, despite what their website tells you) corner of 183 and 620. And it's a pretty nice find. The sushi is quite good, the gyoza dumplings were very good, I liked my Teriyaki bento box just fine, and the prices are entirely reasonable by sushi standards. The only drawback was the calamari, which was too chewy and otherwise nothing special. Service was excellent.
A strong thumbs-up from me, and I look forward to making a return trip.
We get invited to all the cool parties. (Thanks, Phil and Yvonne.)
