Obama joined his church purely for cynical political reasons. This is known. (I saw a video clip of him discussing this and explaining this is precisely why he joined that church, to make himself viable politically.) Now, his church that he chose purely for political reasons, not because of any belief, is his downfall. Doesn't that seem like just desserts? .
