Sat - April 26, 2008The 2008 Elections, or Which Party is Dumber? You know, just when you think the Republican
party can't get any worse, with its rampant spending, its advocacy of torture,
its blind attacks on immigrants, its drive to increase the size and scope of the
federal government beyond all reason, its headlong pursuit of socialist policies
of centralized medicine, its attempts to destroy free speech . . . . I'm
getting tired and the list is too long . . . and you think the democrats have
everything sewn up for this season's elections, then we start to realize that
the democrats might be worse off as a
party.
The democrats are torn between hard core socialist marxists that seek power at all costs (the Clinton machine) and hard core marxist socialists that seek power at all costs (the Kennedy machine via Obama). Add to that fight the even more lunatic fringe that refuses to cooperate with either the hard core socialist marxists or the hard core marxist socialists and seeks to drive each of those factions to ruin. I'm referring to the Cindy Sheehan/Code Pink Bush Derangement Syndrome hard core lunatics. Sheehan seems to think that Nancy Pelosi, by far the most treasonous, marxist, lunatic intellectual lightweight that has ever been a Speaker of the House is not quite lunatic enough and wants to drive her from office. Sheehan wants to get elected to Pelosi's seat in Congress. With a congressional district as screwy as San Francisco she just might succeed. It's been fascinating to watch these last eight
years. When the Republican party took both houses of congress and the White
House, it seemed as if the Democrat party was about to become irrelevent, or at
least that was my prediction. But a funny thing happened on their way to
irrelevency. The republicans lost their direction, and thus their
support.
In the mean time, the Democrats used the occasion to drive out the remainder of the sane faction of their party that had ruled this nation since FDR. They may have been socialists, but they were still sane. After McCarthy's senate hearings and the House Unamerican Activities Committee drove the communists out of plain sight, they went into hiding in the fringe of the democrat party. With the collapse of the democrats, this communist fringe took over and promptly announced Pelosi as Speaker. I thought they could never get more extreme. Boy was I wrong. Pelosi and the fringe used classic tactics to control the agenda. Not all democrats in office are lunatic, but a small minority in key positions can dominate and control the agenda, and they did. In the Spanish Civil War the legitimate government was made up of fools who allowed the USSR to help them. The USSR helped them by providing overpriced, antiquated weapons and by stealing their gold. They also put their own people as the second in command or other critical positions in almost every battalion and section of government. With their party discipline and unity of effort, they eventually controlled the entire government and ousted the elected leader from office. The military support given by the USSR was secondary to their political support and control. This was the low point of the Stalinist purges and Spain was not immune to the fear and paralysis that the purges brought on. As a result, the government suffered military defeat after defeat and shortly after the communists took control of the government, Franco was able to win the war despite his own incompetence. I think we're seeing something similar here. We're seeing a democrat party controlled by a lunatic faction, supported by George Soros' money. This fringe is setting the agenda and controlling the party machine. Most democrats are decent Americans who love their country and want it to be better in ways that might be more "liberal" than republicans, but not by much. They generally want government to stay out of their lives and leave them alone. They just want the government to help others while leaving them alone. In this way, the two political parties aren't really that different as far as their membership goes. But the party is not controlled by its mainstream members; these people are too busy going to work everyday to be part of the machine. Enter the fringe. The party is controlled by the fringe, financed by a radical marxist named Soros who wants to undermine our nation. While the Spanish government and republicans were fighting a war and trying to survive among their splintered coalition, the Soviets were able to control the agenda and eventually took over. While American democrats are busy going to work and feeding their families and making the economy thrive, the Soros fringe is controlling the agenda and is taking over. They created the Obama candidate. They are controlling the Clinton message as well. Clinton hopes to win the nomination and be free of this lunatic fringe so she can amass her own power, but until then she has to play by the fringe's rules. But just as Stalin had his purges, so do the Democrats, although more in an ideological way instead of a murderous way. Sheehan thinks that Pelosi isn't fringe enough. Imagine that. The mind spins just contemplating that idea. But just as Stalin purged Trotsky because Trotsky was too close to the ideology without kowtowing to Stalin, so must the fringe eliminate Pelosi because she is fringe, but not extreme enough. By attacking Pelosi, the extreme fringe encourages others to shift further to the extreme to avoid her fate. Pelosi will probably win this challenge, but only by genuflecting to Soros. She will win the challenge by being more extreme, thereby keeping most of the extremists from voting for Sheehan. Pelosi has nothing to lose by moving further left. No one is running to the right of her that can win. The lesson for others will be clear: MoveOn dictates the agenda. So, while all this is happening, the Republicans have put forward a candidate that is nominally conservative, but in actuality is very leftist in the key areas that mainstream democrats prefer. The republicans just might be able to pull off a presidential victory because the democrats have lost sight of what's important in politics. Just as the USSR were too concerned with controlling the Spanish Republic and thereby lost the country to the rebellion, so might the democrats lose the White House, again, because they're too concerned with controlling the Democrat party.
