SXSW multimedia review by Stephen Dulaney
SXSW web site is the official Web site of the festival. The multimedia festival brought many multimedia disciplines together to help each other understand the changing landscape in Multimedia today. This year the attention seems to be shifting away from CD ROM development and into the Internet as a way to deliver multimedia to the home. There was a lot of talk about the $500 set top box that would connect to the Internet. There are several being developed. The main concern was that the memory at 6MB would not be sufficient to play top CD multimedia titles. Adding the extra memory push the price up to $700 or more.
