Joe Bounds is Building Engineer and Staff Assistant at Kirby Hall School. He was born in Baytown, Texas where he attended public school. During high school he moved to McGregor, Texas where he graduated from McGregor High School, spending high school summers working in A & M greenhouses. He attended Lee College before he went to Viet Nam and in Viet Nam, served as assistant in the Medical Corps. After the war, Joe returned to Texas and became a land surveyor, seeing many parts of the state and helping to survey Austin during a boom period. He was apartment manager of the corner house across the street from Kirby Hall and worked as a surveyor for Garza Engineering on Hemphill Park and 29th Street. He joined Kirby Hall's staff in 1980.
