RTXC Real Time Operating System Magazine Advertisement

This advertisement ran full-page in Embedded Systems Programming Magazine and as a 4/5 (junior) page in EE Times, for approximately five or six submissions during the year 2000 - like many of our other advertisements with the CMP Media publishing group..

The company had been spending thousands and thousands of dollars on "marketing development" (ie: paying someone outside to develop advertisements). At lunch one day, the Marketing Director said that he needed a good magazine advertisement. That afternoon, I went back to my office, laid out the graphics and invented the headline, adding some representative text. I emailed the rough to him and to my boss. We met the next morning and filled in the remainder of what we wanted to say.

All editing was complete by the end of the day - (we tweaked text and graphics in-between meetings and work) and submitted to our layout artist for conversion to Quark.

We saved a lot of money.

We turned out several such pieces in that way - things just clicked into place. Do I miss working with them?

You bet I do.
