Manual Dial up setup for Microsoft Windows ME

- Click on the Start Menu, choose Settings, then choose
Dial-up Networking.

- Double-click Make New Connection
|
|
|
- In the Type a name for the computer you are dialing box, type
Realtime.
- Make sure the correct modem is select in the drop down list at the
bottom
- Click Next

- In the Telephone number box, type your local dialup number
(found
here).
- Click Next
|
|
|
- At the final screen, click Finish
|

- The new icon will appear in the Dial Up Networking window.
Click it once to highlight it.

- Click on the File menu
- Choose Properties.
|

 |
- REMOVE the check next to Use country code and area code
- Click the Server Types tab.
|
|
|
- Click the TCP/IP Settings button in the lower right corner.
|
 |
|
 |
- Put a dot next to Server assigned IP address.
- Put a dot next to Specify name server addresses.
- In the Primary DNS box, type 205.238.128.39
- In the Secondary DNS box, type 205.238.128.42
- Click the OK button a few times until you are back at the main
Dial Up Networking window.

Creating A Shortcut:
- To create a shortcut for this connection on your desktop, click
on the File menu
- Choose Create Shortcut.
- You should see an "error" message asking if you want the shortcut
placed on your desktop.
Click Yes button.
- You should now have the shortcut on the desktop.
- Close the Dial Up Networking and My Computer windows.
- Once you locate the new icon on your desktop, double-click it to connect.

Your computer is now setup to connect to the Internet!
