Setting up your Windows 95 computer
to connect to Realtime

- Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
|

- Double-click Dial-Up Networking icon.
|
|
|
- Double-click Make New Connection icon.
|

 |
- In the Type a name for the computer you are dialing box, type
Realtime.
- Make sure the correct modem is selected in the drop down list at
the bottom.
- Click the Next button.

- In the Telephone number box, type your local dialup number
(found
here).
- Click the Next button.
|

|
|
- The new icon will appear in the Dial Up Networking window.
- Click it once to highlight it.
|

 |
- Click the File menu, then choose Properties.
|
|
|
- REMOVE the check next to the Use country code and area code
- Click the Server Types button. If you have a newer version
of Windows 95, this may be a tab at the top of the window.

- REMOVE the check next to IPX/SPX Compatable, and NetBEUI.
- In the Allowed network protocols section, make sure the only
protocols selected is TCP/IP
- Click the TCP/IP Settings button in the lower right corner.

- Put a dot next to Server assigned IP address.
- Put a dot next to Specify name server addresses.
- In the Primary DNS box, type 205.238.128.39
- In the Secondary DNS box, type 205.238.128.42
- Click the OK button a few times until you are back at the main Dial
Up Networking window.
- To create a shortcut for this connection on your desktop, click the
File menu, then choose Create Shortcut.
- You should see an "error" message asking if you want the shortcut
placed on your desktop. Click the Yes button.
- You should now have the shortcut on the desktop.
- Close the Dial Up Networking and My Computer windows.
- Once you locate the new icon on your desktop, double-click it.
- Enter your Realtime.net email address into the username field.
- Enter your password into the password field.
- Click on the connect button

Your Windows 95 system should now be configured to dial into the internet!
