Gnome-ppp


These images are only screenshots. Please use these images as an example of what you should see on your own computer.

  • From your favorite terminal, just type gppp then press enter.

  • When first launching gnome-ppp there are a number of steps that have to be run through before it is useable.

  • Click on the Account menu

  • Choose New

  • Click on the Dial tab.

 

  • In the Account Name box, type Realtime

  • In the Modem Device drop down list, select the correct modem

  • In the Phone Numbers box, type your local dialup number (found here)

  • Click the Add button to add the phone number to the list.

  • Click on the Authentication tab.

 

  • In the User Name box, type your realtime.net email address

  • In the Remote Name box, type your realtime.net email address

  • In the Password box, type your password.

  • Click on the IP Address tab.

 

  • Under the Local IP Address section, put a dot next to Dynamic.

  • Under the Netmask section, put a dot next to Dynamic.

  • Under the Remote IP Address section, put a dot next to Dynamic.

  • Click the DNS tab.

 

  • In the IP Address box, type 205.238.128.39, then c

  • C lick the Add button.

  • Again in the IP Address box, type 205.238.128.42

  • Click the Add button.

  • In the Domain name box, type realtime.net

  • Click the Add button.

  • Click on the Script tab.

 

  • Make sure all of the boxes on this page are empty.

  • Click the PPP tab.

 

  • Put a dot next to Add Default Route and Lock Dialout Device.

  • In the Maximum Transmission Unit box, type 552

  • In the Maximum Receive Unit box, type 552

  • Click OK

 

  • Your connection should now be setup!

  • Every time you open gnome-ppp just click the Connect button
