  • Select Apple Menu->Location->Network Preferences.

  • The Control Panel will Open up to the Network panel

 

  • Click the configure pop-up list

  • Choose Internal Modem
    (you may need to choose Modem Port if you are using a machine without an internal modem)

  • Click the TCP/IP Tab

  • Select Using PPP in the pop-up list

  • In the Domain Name Servers box type 205.238.128.39

  • On the next line, type 205.238.128.42

  • In the Search Domains box, type realtime.net

  • Click on the PPP tab

 

  • Enter Realtime into the Service Provider Field

  • in the Telephone Number Field enter your local dial up number (found here)

  • Enter your realtime.net email address in the Account Name Field

  • Enter your password in the password field

  • Make sure that the Save Password box is checked

  • Click on the PPP Options Button

 

  • Check the Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications box.

  • Check the Prompt to stay connected if idle for _minutes box
    (set this time to what ever you would like, 15 minutes is recommended)

  • Check Disconnect when user logs out

  • Check Redial if busy
    (Redial 10 times, Wait 5 seconds before redialing)

  • Check Send PPP echo paackets

  • Check Use TCP header compression

  • Click on the Proxies tab

 

  • This window should be blank.

  • Click on the Modem Tab

 

  • Select your modem from the Modem pop-up list.
    ( If you are using a machine with a built in modem it will probably be Apple Internal 56K Modem (v.90) )

  • Click Save

  • Click Save

Your computer is now set up to connect to the internet!
