Microsoft Outlook Express 4.0

  • Click on the Tools menu, then choose Accounts.

 

  • In this window, you will see your currently installed accounts.
  • Click the Add button, then choose Mail.

 

  • In the Display Name box, type your full name, then click the Next button.

 

  • In the E-mail address box, type your email address, then click the Next button.

 

  • In the My incoming mail server is a box, select POP3 from the dropdown list.
  • In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server box, type pop3.realtime.net
  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type smtp.realtime.net
  • Click the Next button.

 

  • Put a dot next to Log on using.
  • In the POP account name box, type your username.
  • In the Password box, type your password.
  • Click the Next button.

  • In the Internet mail account name box, you can leave it as the defaul
  • tClick the Next button.

 

  • If you are a Dialup customer, put a dot next to Connect using my phone line.
  • If you are a T1 customer, put a dot next to Connect using my local area network (LAN).
  • Click the Next button.

 

  • If you chose Connect using my phone line on the previous window, you will now be prompted to choose your connection.
  • Put a dot next to Use an existing dial-up connection.
  • Select your dialup connection from the list.
  • Click the Next button.

 

  • At the final screen, click the Finish button.

 

  • You should now see the new account in the list.
  • Click the "Properties" button

  • Select the "Servers" tab

  • Select the "My server requiers authentication" option
  • Click the "Settings" button

  • Select the option that reads "Use same settings as incoming mail server"
  • Click "OK"
  • Select the "Advanced" tab

  • Insert 587 into the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) field
  • Click "OK"

  • Click the Close button.

Outlook Express 4.0 is now setup to send and recieve email!
