- Click on the Tools menu, then choose Accounts.

- In this window, you will see your currently installed accounts.
- Click the Add button, then choose Mail.
|
- In the Display Name box, type your full name, then click the Next
button.

- In the E-mail address box, type your email address, then click the
Next button.
|
- In the My incoming mail server is a box, select POP3 from the dropdown
list.
- In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server box, type mail.domain.com
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type mail.domain.com
- Click the Next button.

- In the Account name box, type your email address.
- In the Password box, type your password.
- If you want Outlook to remember your password so you won't have to
type it each time you check for email, put a check next to Remember
password.
- Click the Next button.

- If you are a Dialup customer, put a dot next to Connect using my phone
line.
- If you are a T1 customer, put a dot next to Connect using my local
area network (LAN).
- Click the Next button.

- If you chose Connect using my phone line on the previous window, you
will now be prompted to choose your connection.
- Put a dot next to Use an existing dial-up connection.
- Select your dialup connection from the list.
- Click the Next button.

- At the final screen, click the Finish button

- You should now see the new account in the list.
- Hilight the account and click the button that reads Properties.

Click the tab that reads "Servers"

Check the option that reads "My server requires
authentication"

Click the tab that reads "Advanced"

- In the Outgoing field, replace the 25 with 587
- Click "OK"
|

 |

|
Outlook 2000 is now setup to check your email! |
