Microsoft Outlook 2000

  • Click on the Tools menu, then choose Accounts.

 

  • In this window, you will see your currently installed accounts.
  • Click the Add button, then choose Mail.
  • In the Display Name box, type your full name, then click the Next button.
  • In the E-mail address box, type your email address, then click the Next button.
  • In the My incoming mail server is a box, select POP3 from the dropdown list.
  • In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server box, type mail.domain.com
  • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type mail.domain.com
  • Click the Next button.
  • In the Account name box, type your email address.
  • In the Password box, type your password.
  • If you want Outlook to remember your password so you won't have to
    type it each time you check for email, put a check next to Remember password.
  • Click the Next button.
  • If you are a Dialup customer, put a dot next to Connect using my phone line.
  • If you are a T1 customer, put a dot next to Connect using my local area network (LAN).
  • Click the Next button.
  • If you chose Connect using my phone line on the previous window, you will now be prompted to choose your connection.
  • Put a dot next to Use an existing dial-up connection.
  • Select your dialup connection from the list.
  • Click the Next button.
  • At the final screen, click the Finish button
  • You should now see the new account in the list.
  • Hilight the account and click the button that reads Properties.
  • Click the tab that reads "Servers"
  • Check the option that reads "My server requires authentication"
  • Click the tab that reads "Advanced"
  • In the Outgoing field, replace the 25 with 587
  • Click "OK"
  • Click "OK"
  • Click "Close"

Outlook 2000 is now setup to check your email!
