NetTap
Real/Time's standard user account provides low-cost Internet access
for individual or business users. NetTap users pay one low monthly
fee for unlimited access via modem or telnet (see note). For further
details, refer to the rate sheet or
find out about signing up for a new
account.
The NetTap PPP/SLIP capability (known as NetTap/IP) allows almost anyone to tap the benefits of a direct Internet connection to their personal system. NetTap/IP allows you to take advantage of Internet tools that have the same "look-and-feel" as the other applications on your computer. You can multitask your time online (e.g., downloading files while reading news or sending mail). Direct network access also allows you to get the full benefit of Internet tools such as the World-Wide Web that feature multimedia documents complete with graphics and sound.
NetTap terminal users can select either an easy-to-use, menu-driven interface or their choice of UNIX shells. The account provides Internet services including e-mail, telnet, ftp, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), archie, gopher, World-Wide Web, and over 5000 Usenet news and discussion groups. Our local systems offer features such as text editors, a software development environment, a local WWW server (where users can publish documents), a local gopher server, a local chat system, a variety of games, and access to text-based virtual realities (MUDs and MOOs).
NetDirect
Real/Time's NetDirect service is the ideal service for both small
organizations and large corporations that want the benefits of a
high-quality, 24-hour/day Internet connection. NetDirect options
include full domain registration and network routing. Connection
options include direct T1, frame relay (64K to T1), ISDN, and analog
modem. Please contact "sales@realtime.net" for further
information about NetDirect and other dedicated network services.
ISDN
Real/Time supports both dialup and dedicated ISDN connections at
either 64K or 128K. Please contact the Real/Time sales staff for
quotes and further information about ISDN services.
UUCP
UUCP service is designed for sites that need e-mail or Usenet
newsfeeds, but do not require full Internet access. Historically,
UUCP has often been used a low-cost alternative to a full network
connection. Thanks to services such as NetPresence and NetDirect,
full Internet access is now very affordable and fewer sites are
using UUCP. Real/Time offers a range of UUCP services for sites where
UUCP connections are appropriate.
