The Gathering of Memories Air Show

7:30 AM - Gates open (Saturday and Sunday)
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Honored Guests available to sign autographs
11:00 AM - Flying begins
12:30 PM - Honored Guests parade
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Gathering of Memories Air Show

The Air Show will begin with an Honored Guests Parade featuring the 300 member Southwest Texas State University “Bobcat” Band and more than thirty honored guests riding in Corvettes and World War II military vehicles.

The Air Show will feature a spectacular airpower demonstration performed by the great airplanes of World War II. The Confederate Air Force's B-17 Flying Fortresses "Sentimental Journey" and "Texas Raider" and B-24 Liberator "Diamond Lil" will highlight one of the largest gathering of World War II aircraft in the country. Three B-25 Mitchell bombers will fly by in a salute to the members of Jimmy Doolittle’s Tokyo Raiders and two P-40 Warhawks will do the same for the members of the A.V.G. Flying Tigers in attendance. The list of aircraft invited to participate includes:

Gathering of Memories Dinner Dance

The Saturday evening Dinner Dance begins at 6:00 PM and will feature a U.S.O. type show in the CENTEX Wing's huge wooden World War II hangar with dancing to big band music of the incredible "Sentimental Journey Orchestra" as they play from under the nose of the B-17 Bomber "Sentimental Journey."

A spectacular air raid will interrupt the evening with sirens, WW II search lights, scrambling aircraft, sounds of approaching bomber, reenactors firing anti-aircraft weapons, and huge simulated bomb explosions.

Air Show tickets can be purchased at the gate.

Dinner Dance tickets must be purchased in advance.

Vendor Information

For exposure to approximately 20,000 people in a 2 day period, air show
vendors in three catagories are invited to join the air show:
	1.  Food Vendors located outside - Approximate area 20’X 20’
	2.  Other Vendors* located outside - Approximate area 20’X 20’
	3.  Vendors in a Commercial Tent
		A.  8’ tables
		B.  Only packaged food allowed inside tent
		     (jams, mustards, etc.)

* There will also be limited availability for outside space for large
   commercial vendors (autos, aircraft, boats, etc.)
