Waterloo Station Introduction

The Sherlock Holmes Society is a loosely organized group of people who
share an appreciation for the life and works of The Master, Mr. Sherlock
Holmes, the world's first and greatest consulting detective. Through the
study of the Canon, the case histories left to us by Dr. John H. Watson,
Holmes' biographer, we gain new insights into the most interesting
personality of the Victorian era. We also have the pleasurable company
of our fellow members and enjoy a level of repartee seldom seen since the
days of Oscar Wilde's aesthetes or the Algonquin Round Table.

The requirements to be a member are minimal. No tests; no Masonic Rites.
You need only a desire to share in the study and enjoyment of the Master's
work;  The willingness to suspend disbelief in the interest of good story;
and, of course, a ten dollar annual membership fee, payable at our party
to celebrate the Master's birthday (January 6th, but you knew that already.)

The debates that arise from the fine points of the Master's career are a
large and enjoyable part of our gatherings. We also have "show and tell"
(several of members are avid collectors of Sherlockian memorabilia), and
undertake special projects such as staffing the phones for KLRU Public
Television's fund drives (always during Mystery, of course.)

Waterloo Station members meet at the Kerbey Lane Cafe (12602 Research Blvd)
on the Second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for dinner, except in months
when we have a special event such as the Master's Birthday Party or our annual
Sherlockian Film Festival. Prospective members may attend meetings. There is
no per-meeting fee, but each person pays their own dinner check.
