I don't really know how it happened. I guess I should just be lucky that no one got hurt. A friend of mine's daughter wanted a ride in my Porsche before I went home for the evening. I always want an excuse to drive my car, so I agreed. It was wet and had been raining for two days, but the drizzle had stopped and I put the top down and we went on a quick spin around the block. Spin was right!
I was really careful on the turns because it was so slick, but when I finished one turn, I ensured that I was through the turn, and then I accelerated. I didn't go all out, but apparently too much for that road. My back end got loose and that was all she wrote.
The tow truck driver unceremoniously dumped the car in the middle of a muddy field. I guess I should be grateful that he put a tarp over the cab, but other than that, Briseis didn't get the respect she is accustomed to.
Here's a picture of the part of the car that wasn't damaged.
Here's the other side . Observe that there is no wheel attached to the lug nuts.
A closeup of the right front axle.

Here's the back end.
Here's another shot, note the tire has no spokes.
They've begun repairs on Briseis and of course I took some pictures.
