Down the Lane
The lane starts at the car park just south of the square. Being part of the public footpath system, anyone is free to traverse it. You will pass picturesque cottages before coming to a stile. From the stile one can see 20 miles or more. The Cottswalds are visible in the distance. Following the public footpath across the field will lead to the village of Marston St. Lawrence.
On a warm day Norman the hedgehog can be spotted out for a stroll.
When hiking on the public footpaths I always carried an Ordnance Survey map to keep me on course. The maps can be purchased at local newsagents. It's easy to go off the paths as the markers can go missing or the path right of way may have crops planted across it.
A view of the lane in autumn. I'm still looking for a spring time photo when the rose bushes on left are in bloom.
