I remember my grandfather talking about going to the St. Louis Fair, in 1904. That was right before he and Granny were married. He went with my great-grandparents. This is on the Guiler side, as I'm sure you have realized. My grandfather LOVED to travel--alas, Granny did not. Grandedad (my name for him) also visited Gettysburg- He was so disappointed in Little Round Top-he thought it would be much more of a hill! anyway-- his going to St. Louis was really something then-- folks talked of it for years!
